Zijiang Foundation


Shanghai Zijiang Foundation is a non-public foundation established with the approval of Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau. The startup capital, RMB 20 million, is donated solely by Mr. Shen Wen, Chairman and President of Zijiang Holdings.

Since its inception in 2015, Zijiang Foundation has been committed to providing resources and support to charity and innovations. Aligning with visionary foundations, enterprises, universities, and scholars, we have been exploring the best way to promote the awareness and practices of charity. Our core mission is to “Use innovative solutions and lead those who are passionate about charity to build a better life together”. Our vision is “Charity is a lifestyle, engaging everyone and benefiting everyone.” We uphold “Integrity, Pragmatism, Innovation and Sustainability” as our values.

Zijiang Foundation, concerned about innovative charity talent education, has launched Shanghai Jiao Tong University Socially Responsible Investment Fund and East China Normal University Charity Talent Development Fund, among other programs, with a view to establish development and education funds and support and boost education development in China in practical terms, for example, in education of students, training of teachers, enhancement of facilities and development of academic subjects.

Zijiang Holdings


Zijiang, founded in 1981, is a private investment holding group rooted in Shanghai. It is named after the river Zigang near its place of origin in the hope that Zijiang will gather strength and expand space for sustained development.

Zijiang’s founder Mr. Shen Wen is the president and chairman of the group, a member of the CPC, a member of the 10th, 11th and 12th CPPCC national committees, the vice-chairman of the 12th and 13th SFIC executive committees, and the vice-president of the Listed Companies Association of Shanghai.

Zijiang mainly invests in manufacturing and services. We have two listed companies in manufacturing: Zijiang Enterprise Stock and Welltech Stock. We focus on Zizhu National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, real estate and hotel development and management in the services segment.

At the same time, Zijiang has made it its mission to “serve the country through industry and develop the country through science and education”. We stress the development of both economic and social benefits and will play a more active role in building a global technology innovation center in Shanghai.

She has extensive experience in charity education and social innovations. She led the design of and effectively facilitated the implementation of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Socially Responsible Investment Fund and East China Normal University Charity Talent Development Fund, and shaped a strategic framework centering on talent development. She was previously employed by a Taiwan-based British 4A advertising company, an Australian market research and consulting firm and the management unit of a world famous hotel. She received her psychological counseling degree from Boston University, and Master of International Public Policies from University of Southern California. She is pursuing an EMBA at China Europe International Business School.
